Tony Gene Klopfenstein age 60 of Howe, Indiana passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 18, 1956 in LaGrange, Indiana son of the late Carl J. and Aretha Mary (Klopfenstine) Klopfenstein.
Tony was a lifelong Howe resident and a graduate of Lakeland High School in LaGrange, Indiana with the class of 1974. He furthered his education at Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, Michigan where he earned as Associate Degree in Automotive Mechanics.
On September 19, 1992 he married Debora Sue Mettler at the First Baptist Church in Sturgis, Michigan.
Tony had been employed as a machinist by Burr Oak Tool & Gauge Company in Sturgis for over 20 years.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Tony enjoyed hunting, target shooting, reloading ammunition, tinkering with automobiles and spending time with family and friends. Many will remember him always ready and willing to lend a hand to those in need.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of nearly 25 years, Debi; one son: Charlie Klopfenstein of Howe, Indiana; three brothers: Roger (Lisa) Klopfenstein, Dale (Joan) Klopfenstein and Gary (Rajean) Klopfenstein all of Howe, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284. Funeral services celebrating the life of Tony Klopfenstein will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Hughes of the Howe Presbyterian Church will officiate. In accordance with Tony's wishes cremation will follow the service.
The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Tony's memory consider the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
